I Broke My Tooth, Can You Help?

There are a variety of emergency situations that can result in a chipped or broken tooth, including:

  • A sports-related dental injury
  • A car accident
  • An injury sustained biting down on a foreign object
  • A hard fall
  • An injury sustained biting down on a hard piece of food
  • An injury resulting from bruxism, grinding or clenching the teeth

If you have experienced a dental accident or injury, call Weekend Dentistry right away. Some dental trauma is not immediately visible, and can only be revealed during an emergency examination. We will take X-rays and perform a thorough assessment to determine the extent of the damage, and the necessary treatment to address it.

Accidents can strike when you least expect them, and they can cause lasting damage. If you have experienced a chipped or broken tooth, call Weekend Dentistry. We are open seven days a week to provide emergency care.

Do I Need Treatment for My Chipped or Broken Tooth?

A chipped or broken tooth must be treated right away, even if the damage is not visible, painful, or severe. If left untreated, chipped or broken teeth will continue to weaken over time, causing it further fracture. Fractures in the teeth can lead to infections, abscesses, and even tooth loss. Be sure to see us as soon as possible for chipped or broken tooth repair.

How Are Broken and Chipped Teeth Treated?

Your treatment will depend on the extent of the damage to your tooth. In some cases, we can repair your tooth with a dental bonding procedure. This involves the use of tooth-colored resin to repair cracks or chips in the tooth structure. For more extensive damage, you may need a crown. We use crowns to cap chipped, cracked, broken, or fractured teeth, restoring their appearance and strength.
